The ultimate damage mode of bridge structures strengthened with CFRP changes to sudden (brittle damage such as breaking or peeling). The ultimate bearing capacity of bridge structures should be calculated according to 2/3 of the tensile strength of CFRP, but not according to the general reinforced concrete.


CFRP can improve the shear capacity of concrete beams. Its effect mechanism is similar to stirrups. Together, CFRP can significantly improve the deformation function of components and enhance the deformation ability of components.
